Ocotillo Wells SVRA was approved by the California Watchable Wildlife Program as a Watchable Wildlife Site. This program evaluates parks, recreation areas, and preserves for their wildlife-viewing potential. Although officially designated in September 2008, Ocotillo Wells SVRA has just recently received its road signs announcing its selection. The grand unveiling of the iconic binocular sign which identifies selected parks will be held on Monday, November 9, 2009, at 10:00 am. (We will be unveiling the sign just east of Ranger Station Road.) In the meantime, please check out the
