Marconi Conference Center State Historic Park

The Lodge at Marconi, an upscale coastal retreat, is situated on 62 sprawling acres of rolling hills overlooking scenic Tomales Bay in Marin County.

The California State Parks Foundation acquired the property in 1984 with Buck Trust funds, remodeled it as a conference center, and gave it to the California Department of Parks and Recreation. It is now operated as a non-profit facility. 

The conference center operation enables these grounds to be preserved and protected, while the historical buildings constructed by Marconi await restoration

Lodging

All 45 guest rooms offer a variety of comfortable, dynamic, and tranquil accommodations with stunning views; In room amenities include plush linens, pillow top mattresses, luxe bathrobes, plant based- bath products, dedicated workspace, refrigerators, coffee machines, tea kettles, and more. The Reception lounge is where guests are welcomed into an intimate lobby with a check in desk, which moonlights as a complimentary coffee and espresso bar for guests, a Grab-and-go market boasts local provisions and a kitchenette that features a microwave, toaster, and water refill station.

Meeting and Event Space

Lodge at Marconi offers eight versatile indoor and outdoor venues to host breathtaking events including weddings, conferences, and meetings of all sizes. Each event space is unique and functional, ranging from conference buildings, prefunction spaces, indoor and outdoor breakout areas, and striking open air sites, all immersed in forested surroundings boasting spectacular views. These include, Tower Hill, a hilltop outdoor meeting and activity space situated at the highest point of Marconi State Historic Park; an outdoor amphitheater tucked into a magnificent grove of towering Monterey Pines; and the newly renovated Redwood Dining Hall, boasting a mid-century cafeteria-style environment with a spacious indoor dining room, a full bar, and a large outdoor deck.

Basic Visit Recommendations
Outdoor recreational diversions include hiking trails, volleyball and basketball courts, horseshoe pits, bicycling on nearby country roads, birdwatching, and fishing in Tomales Bay.

Collecting or destroying anything in the park, including mushrooms, is prohibited.

Marconi Hotel
The main building of the Marconi Wireless Station on this site is known as the Marconi Hotel.  This was quite a remote site in 1914 when the Hotel housed station workers and Marconi guests. It offered the conveniences of a library, dining hall, billiard room and state-of-the-art plumbing. Built of concrete and tile, the three-story building's front verandah was designed in the classic Italianate villa style.
